Thames Gateway London Partnership: Environmentally responsible exhibiting.
The scenario: Exhibiting for the first time, the organisation had a rather unusual situation of not having any customers as an organisation, rather it saw the exhibition as a method of raising its profile and furthering its discussions with all the major agencies, a key theme of the organisation and therefore the stand is sustainability for the future.
The specific requirements: Eye-catching from a distance contain 4 partner logos and another 24 supporter logos. Be able to store 20 types of literature, not to be displayed but on-hand if requested. Have a place to sit and welcome visitors Encourage a high percentage of the show visitors to come to the stand. Be Carbon Neutral. Encourage environmentally responsible exhibiting.
The solution: A 3m high tower as the central piece, to draw attention over a distance. Varied range of graphic panels to place specific messages/partner logos People drawn to stand by free coffee, from a small independent fair trade supplier local to the venue. False wall at the back to create a storage space for literature shelves and coats. All the furniture on the stand made from reclaimed Thames driftwood by a local social enterprise. Flooring made from 100% recycled car tyres. A Tree on the stand, (planted later).
